Urban Casual Fedora

The weekend is a perfect time to spend with friends exploring all the city has to offer and with this outfit, you can do so in style. For today's outfit, I took the classic fedora and incorporated it in a more modern, casual look.

Let me begin by saying that I am absolutely in love with this skin. It was the entry from Perfectionist for the Just for the Guys Hunt 2009 and shows that it pays to complete the clothing hunts. When I saw this, I knew that I had to build an outfit around it. It has an 8-pack with the hint of side packs as well, perfect for showing off your tattoos.

Speaking of tattoos, Jessie Aitui from AITUI, in my opinion, has some of the best tattoos in Second Life. I love his attention to detail and that he also gives multiple variations in the same pack. One of his other tattoos I have came with a 'fresh ink' and an 'old ink' version. You definitely get what you pay for, and then some.

The rolled legs on the jeans, combined with the emo, anime t-shirt, seem to suggest a more upmarket, trendy look. When combined with the double belt to accentuate the waist and the grungy sneakers, the outfit comes together.

Note that the fedora, belt and shoes all are variations on the black and white theme. The fedora started to become popular in the 1920s and, if there are any movie buffs reading, this is also the last decade that movies were only made in black and white. By the 1930s a few color films started being produced. This color scheme pays quiet homage to that by-gone era and helps balance the look of the outfit from top to bottom. I have also added a steakpunk-esque style watch to offset the belt so that it would balance side to side.

Purely by accident, I stumbled upon BUKKA and was in pure amazement at the quality of products on offer. The watch chosen for today's outfit has hands that actually move to show Second Life Time (SLT) so you are never late to that event at your favorite club and each of the pieces are made from sculpted prims for a more realistic look. I bought several items here which may be used in future posts.

I am sure you can achieve this same type of look using outfits you already have in your inventory. Mix and match from several outfits and see how you look. The key is to just have fun! ^^)v

セクシー悪魔 / Sexy Devilkin

Yes, I admit it -- I have my own unique fashion sense as presented in this outfit, but then again, this isn't your normal fashion blog either. Sometimes, my outfits reflect a mood I want to portray or for a costume contest, but for the most part I just like to dress up and look cute. Who needs a reason for that?

Today, I chose the theme of "red" and the first thing that popped into my mind was a devil or demon. I did not want to make what most people think a devil or demon should look like, which is why I chose not to include a tail and pitchfork for this post. Besides, what is scarier than pure evil with an innocent face? That's part of the fun, though.

Surprisingly, the jacket and pants come from two separate designers, but with the delicate filigree work, it appears that it could have come as one outfit. The intricate design on the pants, to me, almost suggests music notes, which is why I really like it. In the spirit of full disclosure, the boots pictured from Lassitude & Ennui are an older design that I had purchased years ago, but when I visited the store for this post, it appears that they are selling an updated version that looked absolutely beautiful. This outfit is rounded out with a double belt and low hanging pentacle necklace.

こんにちは！ / Konnichi wa!

Yes, I am still alive but I have been out of the country visiting Thailand and did not really have access to the internet. I was wanting to show my take on a Na'vi from the movie Avatar but the skin I was using had some copyright issues and was being reworked. As that particular skin was breaking copyright and was going to be reworked anyways, I decided to wait until the new version was out to repost.

虎柄着物 / Tiger Pattern Kimono

It is hard to believe that 2010 is here already. What a wild decade that was! It seems just yesterday that everyone was worried if the power was going to stay on when we rolled over to the year 2000, the internet was just starting to grow and virtual worlds were just a twinkle in our collective digital eyes.

In Japan, it is traditional for people to wear their best kimono to visit the shrine on New Year's Day [初詣 / hatsu moude / first shine visit] to pray for good health, prosperity in the coming year, warding off evil spirits and safety. My own personal Second Life tradition for the past few years has been to visit the various shrines on New Year's Day to give thanks for my friends who have helped me in the past year and to pray that they have good fortunes in the future.

So, to celebrate a new decade, I decided that this New Year's outfit should reflect that digitally. 2010 is the year of the tiger in the Asian / Lunar New Year calendar and to start the year right, I asked my very good friend Uriah Eulenberg from BALACLAVA!! to design a tiger kimono for me. Uriah has taken my original idea to the extreme and what he has presented me with was nothing short of a masterpiece. Let's look at this outfit in greater detail.

You can see why I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the outfit with its long flowing sleeves and intricate drum bow in back, topped with a decoration showing the year, 2010, on the front of the obi [belt]. I have also chosen black geta [shoes] from Ookami Ningen as it fits the outfit's colors better as well as a cute tiger striped cowboy hat to complete the look. The geta are one of the staples that I keep at the top of my inventory when I need an elegant look to a kimono.

Carnival of the Damned

I absolutely love costume contests, so when I saw that the theme was "Outrageously Imaginative", my first thought was, "Count me in!" For this outfit, I wanted to find something both sexy and scary at the same time, so I decided upon an androgynous, undead, sexy, damned carnival worker. What do you think?

EDDESIGN does a beautiful job on all of his eyes and they look like nothing else in Second Life. I wear his eyes on an almost daily basis as all of his eyes come with a twinkle prim, one for each eye.

Hi everyone! I'm Kazunori!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I plan to use this space to tell everyone about my favorite stores and fashions in Second Life. Also, I think it would be fun to post some outfits I have come across here. I own quite a bit and usually try to come up with my own unique look. In my quest to be unique, sometimes I try to come up with the most outrageous outfits possible.

Many times I have been asked, "Where did you get that hair?" or "Where did you buy your skin?" I will try to post where I bought the item and the approximate cost (if I can find it) so you can mix and match items to complete your own looks.
